W. R. Jones, Jr. founded Jones Textile Company, Inc. in
1947. For much of its existence, the company concentrated
on supplying textured synthetic yarns to the hosiery trade.
Jim and Andy Flowers, nephews of the founder, purchased the
company in 1984. The new owners broadened the product line
into dyed nylon, polyester as well as spun natural and
synthetic fiber. This move helped to expand the customer base
to include covering, narrow fabrics, and the cut and sew
trade.
The business has cultivated long relationships with Sapona
Manufacturing Company and Titan Textiles. Recently, Jones
Textile has established sales and marketing relationships with
Southeastern Yarns and Richmond Yarns. By striving to
understand the needs of their customers, as well as the
companies they represent, Jones Textile has carved a niche
that thrives on hands-on personal service.
